At a prescheduled briefing this morning on the upcoming Papal visit - held at the District’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) headquarters – Mayor Bowser received a briefing from her public safety team on the barricade situation at the block of 3700 18th Street, NE.
The Mayor is closely monitoring from HSEMA and is in direct communication with her public safety team.
Mayor Bowser encourages residents in the surrounding community to shelter in place – and to stay there until they receive further instructions from law enforcement.
