MEDIA ADVISORY: Mayor Bowser to Host Regional Opioid and Substance Abuse Summit with Maryland and Virginia Governors
(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Tuesday, May 9, at 10 am, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser will speak at the Regional Opioid and Substance Abuse Summit alongside Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, and Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. Mayor Bowser will discuss how Washington, DC is combatting the opioid crisis with prevention, treatment, and integrated public safety responses. Last October, Mayor Bowser, Governor Hogan, and Governor McAuliffe signed the National Capital Region Compact to Combat Opioid Addiction.
