Mayor Bowser Submits Brief With the US Court of Appeals in Support of Budget Autonomy

Yesterday, Mayor Muriel Bowser submitted a brief with the US Court of Appeals in support of budget autonomy for the District. The brief builds on a shorter two-page filing the Mayor made with the court last week on the District’s ongoing budget autonomy suit.

This brief is another step in Mayor Bowser’s fight to seek budget autonomy and a fulfillment of a campaign pledge. The Mayor was represented in the case by pro bono attorneys at Latham & Watkins and Professor Alan Morrison.
