Mayor Bowser, Pepco to Break Ground on DC PLUG Project to Underground Powerlines
(Washington, DC) – On Friday, June 14, at 12 pm., Mayor Bowser, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), and Pepco will break ground on the DC Power Line Undergrounding Project (PLUG).
The multi-year, $500 million project will underground power lines to improve the resiliency and reliability of the electric system in the District. Once complete, the project is expected to decrease storm-related outages by 94% for thousands of residents.
