Mayor Bowser to Launch New Safe Passage Initiative to Enhance Student Safety Ahead of School Year 2019-20
(Washington, DC) – On Friday, August 23, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will launch a “Safe Spots for Students” initiative to engage businesses, government, and faith-based organizations to serve as places of safety and support along common student travel routes.
The event will feature a backpack giveaway and highlight other new Safe Passage investments to help ensure students’ safety on their way to and from school.
