Mayor Bowser to Kick Off #FairShot Week, Launch Next Round of Great Streets Retail Small Business Grants

(Washington, DC) – On Monday, December 13, at 11:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) will kick off #FairShot Week by highlighting the District’s economic toolkit at ObviouslyDC.com and launching the next round of the FY22 Great Streets Retail Small Business Grant program. The kickoff will be at the Pop-Up Collaborative, a local woman-owned small business.
 
The purpose of the Great Streets Small Business Grants is to support existing small businesses, attract new businesses, increase the District’s tax base, create new jobs for District residents, and improve commercial vibrancy along the city’s emerging corridors and surrounding neighborhoods.  
 
Throughout #FairShot Week, the Bowser Administration will highlight various new and existing programs designed to give Washingtonians a fair shot and accelerate the District’s economic recovery. The Mayor will promote some of the many tools listed on ObviouslyDC.com that provide financial assistance and guidance to local businesses and businesses that want to open in, expand to, and create jobs and opportunity in Washington, DC.
