Mayor Bowser to Join Big Bird and Count von Count to Celebrate 50 Years of Sesame Street
(Washington, DC) – On Friday, June 7, at 10:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join Sesame Street to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary. Mayor Bowser will join Big Bird and Count von Count and children from Martha’s Table’s early childhood program to highlight the importance of eating well and laying the foundation for healthy habits at a young age. At the event, children will learn about fruits and vegetables and participate in interactive activities.
Mayor Bowser will also proclaim Friday, June 7, 2019, as Sesame Street Day in Washington, DC and encourage all Washingtonians to celebrate the television program’s significant milestone.
