Mayor Bowser Directs $63 Million to District’s Coronavirus Response

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Mayor Muriel Bowser directed an additional $63 million of the District’s Contingency Cash Reserve Fund to support the District’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency.
Specifically, the Mayor directed $22.5 million to purchase medical equipment, personal protective gear, and other supplies and equipment, and $40.5 million for staffing needs necessary to provide increased medical services to respond to COVID-19.
To date, Mayor Bowser has directed $192.4 million to the District’s COVID-19 response and recovery efforts.
