Mayor Bowser to Deliver 549 Preserved and Renovated Affordable Housing Units for Ward 7 Families

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, May 15, at 11:30 am, Mayor Bowser will cut the ribbon on the Fort Chaplin Park Apartments and celebrate preserving 549 mostly family-sized affordable units in Ward 7.
Through the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act, Fort Chaplin Park tenants were able to partner with a private developer to preserve and upgrade their affordable homes. The project was made possible through a $94 million acquisition and renovation— the largest tax-exempt bond, affordable housing preservation deal in District history.
