Mayor Bowser to Cut the Ribbon On Two Additional School Modernization Projects at Murch and Boone Elementary Schools
(Washington, DC) – On Saturday, August 18, at 3 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will cut the ribbon on Murch Elementary. Following the event, the Mayor will cut the ribbon on Lawrence E. Boone Elementary at 4:30 pm.
The full modernization of Murch Elementary School in Ward 3 includes the renovation of the existing school building plus a substantial addition to accommodate 720 students.
Boone Elementary, formerly Orr Elementary, is a 100% new construction facility in Ward 8 that includes a new library, media lab, and green features, and replaces the existing outdated open-plan school.
