Mayor Bowser to Cut the Ribbon on Palisades Recreation Center and Walk in the 4th of July Parade
(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Wednesday, July 4, at 12:30 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will cut the ribbon on the Palisades Recreation Center, a $9.5 million modernization project that includes a half-court gymnasium, fitness and community rooms, and a 6,000 square-foot addition near the outdoor terrace and rear lawn in Ward 3. Designed and constructed to meet the LEED Gold Certification for an eco-friendly and energy-efficient environment, the renovated facility also includes new installations of fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and ADA compliant public restrooms.
Prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Bowser will lead community members walking in the Palisades Fourth of July Parade at 11 am. Starting location will be at Whitehaven Parkway, NW and Reservoir Road, NW.
