Mayor Bowser to Celebrate Grand Opening of UDC Community College Campus Expansion

On Monday, October 26 at 10 am Mayor Muriel Bowser will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new wing of the University of the District of Columbia Community College’s (UDC-CC) Bertie Backus Campus. Mayor Bowser and Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity Courtney R. Snowden will celebrate the grand opening of the campus and the additional workforce training programs UDC-CC will provide to get residents back to work. The campus expansion will allow for more than 1,100 additional students, 13 additional classrooms and labs, expanded course offerings, and a business incubator space. The UDC-CC Bertie Backus Campus is also home to one of the Department of Employment Services’ American Jobs Center locations.
