Mayor Bowser to Announce Expansion of MPD CCTV Cameras

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, at 3:30 p.m., Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice Kevin Donahue, DC Police Chief Peter Newsham, and public safety officials to announce an expansion of Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) CCTV cameras. MPD operates a network of CCTV cameras in areas with a history of violent crime and uses relevant video footage for investigatory and evidentiary purposes when a crime occurs.
Following the announcement, Mayor Bowser will lead a public safety walk in Ward 5.
