Mayor Bowser to Announce 28 Grants Worth Nearly $700,000 as Part of Safer Stronger Initiative

(Washington, DC) On Monday, December 7, at 10 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser, DC Trust Executive Director Ed Davies, Administration officials and community leaders will announce the recipients of the Community Partnerships Mini-Grant Initiative, part of the Mayor’s Safer Stronger Agenda. The Mini-Grants will direct additional resources to some of the District’s most underserved neighborhoods and will address key community priorities through violence prevention and mediation, mentoring, family support and youth enrichment programs.
In September, Mayor Bowser introduced a comprehensive public safety agenda designed to combat violent crime in the District and make the city safer and stronger. The agenda, a mixture of legislative, budgetary and administrative measures, included the community grant program dedicated to funding non-profits that help improve the lives of individuals and families living in areas victimized by violent crime.
