DPR to Host Cooperative Play Program Open Houses for the 2016-2017 Program Year

(Washington, DC) - Today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that DPR's Cooperative Play Program will host a variety of Open Houses for new and prospective families for the upcoming 2016-2017 program year. The Cooperative Play program currently operates 5 days a week. For the 2016-2017 program year, the Cooperative Play program will operate from September 6, 2016 through May 26, 2017; and will be offered for children between the ages of 18 months to 4 years old.

The 2016-2017 Open Houses will be held on Wednesday, February 10 through Friday, February 12, 2016 - AND - Wednesday, March 9 through Friday, March 11, 2016 at the locations listed below.  Please note, locations are open for adult visitors only from 9:30 am – 11:30 am (please do not bring children) and visits are limited to 20 minutes per person. Parents/guardians are invited to drop-in at one, or all, of the Open Houses on the days listed below:

• Wednesday : February 10 - or - March 9 
  • Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street, NW) | Butterflies (2 1/2 - 4 y.o.) & Caterpillars (18 - 29 mo.)
  • Harrison Recreation Center (1330 V Street, NW) | 18 - 29 mo.
  • Mitchell Park Recreation Center (1801 23rd Street, NW) | 2 1/2 - 4 y.o.
  • Raymond Recreation Center (3725 10th Street, NW) | 18 - 29 mo.

• Thursday : February 11 - or - March 10
  • Hearst Recreation Center (3950 37th Street, NW) | 2 1/2 - 4 y.o.
  • Rose Park Recreation Center (2609 Dumbarton Street, NW)  | 18 - 29 mo.
  • Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Avenue, NE)  | 18 - 29 mo.
  • Volta Park Recreation Center (1555 34th Street, NW) | Bunnies (18 - 29 mo.) & Rabbits (2 1/2 - 4 y.o.)

• Friday : February 12 - or - March 11
  • Chevy Chase Community Center (5601 Connecticut Avenue, NW) | 2 1/2 - 4 y.o.
  • Chevy Chase Recreation Center (5500 41st Street, NW) | 18 - 29 mo.
  • Guy Mason Recreation Center (3600 Calvert Street, NW)  | 2 1/2 - 4 y.o.
  • Kennedy Recreation Center (1401 7th Street, NW) | 2 1/2 - 4 y.o.

Please note the following:

• Open Houses are for adult visitors only; please do not bring children.
• Open House drop-in's are limited to 20 minutes per person per site.
